American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) travel assignment requiring a minimum of 18 months of permanent specialty experience and active Ohio or compact RN licensure.

- PICU setting within a major academic medical center \n
- Cares for pediatric patients of all ages up to 25 years, including those requiring epilepsy monitoring and inotrope management \n
- Day/Night rotating shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts) \n
- Shift rotation may be adjusted based on operational needs, though preferred shifts will be honored when possible \n
- 13-week contract \n

- Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — no pending licensure accepted \n
- Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; all must be active and in hand \n
- NIHSS certification preferred \n
- Minimum 18 months of permanent (non-travel) experience in PICU or pediatric specialty required prior to any travel assignments \n
- Minimum 18 months of recent pediatric experience required (travel experience counts toward this requirement) \n
- Experience with EKG/ECG rhythm recognition and inotrope management required \n
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months — co-worker references are not accepted \n
- A valid driver's license and Social Security card are required for consideration \n
- Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation (two attempts allowed) \n
- No open background check cases; no license hits accepted \n
- \n
- Provides specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients, including those requiring epilepsy monitoring and vasoactive medication management \n
- Local candidates are accepted for this position \n
- Former permanent or per diem employees of this health system must wait at least 1 year from their end date before working as a traveler \n
- Every other holiday coverage is required \n
- BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract \n
- Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate testing; a passing score is required with a maximum of two attempts \n
- Pre-start modules are required and average 6–15 hours; some module time is non-billable \n
- RTO requests must be disclosed prior to or at time of interview \n
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the permanent experience requirement \n
