Position Title: Loan Coordinator

Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time; 40 hours per week / <30 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY

The Loan Coordinator will support Mortgage Loan Officers in all aspects of the mortgage loan origination process. Courtesy, customer service, and tact are essential elements of this position. The Loan Coordinator works as a team member, managing a pipeline of loans while communicating with clients, Loan Officers, and other members of the Operations team from loan approval to closing. Work involves a great degree of personal contact with others, both in and out of the Company, for purposes of obtaining information, obtaining documentation, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. The Loan Coordinator must have excellent 'people skills' and be driven with the desire to make sure every client has a positive experience with ALCOVA Mortgage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for assisting with the administrative duties related to client relationships and identifying client service and sales needs
  2. Reviews loan applications to determine the completeness of all documents and verifies borrowers’ qualifications for specified loan products
  3. Assists with coordination of all appropriate documentation and follows up with clients on an ongoing basis
  4. Advises Loan Officers of any deficiencies or missing documentation
  5. Responds to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated from both their own contacts and from the Loan Officers’ business
  6. Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advise customers of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information
  7. Maintains a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  8. Demonstrates commitment to professional ethics by complying with all federal and state compliance policies and requirements
  9. Works with escrow teams to obtain all items necessary for disclosure (e.g. estimated HUD, preliminary title report, closing protection letter and wire instructions)
  10. Coordinates sending of disclosures, ordering appraisals, and running of credit
  11. Packages and submits complete files to Operations through the Company’s loan origination software program
  12. Upon receipt of loan approval, works with Loan Officer Assistants, Loan Officers, and Escrow Officers to clear all “prior to doc” conditions and funding conditions
  13. Arrange signing for borrowers with Escrow Officers
  14. Works closely with Loan Officers, Funders, and Escrow Officers to clear funding conditions
  15. Organizes filing system, answers phones, photocopies documents, and prepares correspondence and documents
  16. Prepares marketing materials, and may coordinate meetings, conferences, and presentations
  17. May be responsible for the preparation of specialized reports and documents

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Must be actively and appropriately licensed as a Loan Officer and possess National Mortgage Licensing & Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008
  2. Minimum of at least one year of experience in the mortgage field is required; two years of mortgage experience or previous sales support experience is preferred
  3. Strong pipeline skills, with an ability to prioritize complex diversified responsibilities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  4. Knowledge of federal and state fair lending requirements
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with others
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  7. Strong customer service skills
  8. Ability to use deductive reasoning
  9. Working knowledge of Encompass and RESPA software
  10. Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet applications
  11. Self-starting, self-reliant, highly motivated and dependable
  12. Technologically savvy and comfortable learning new computer systems and programs
  13. Ability to adapt to changing environments, situations, and job responsibilities
  14. Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if needed
  15. Strong moral compass with high standards for workplace integrity
  16. Compliance with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements is required. Employee must complete annual training in these areas

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a clerical office setting; climate-controlled surroundings with adequate lighting and little or moderate noise when in the office. In this role, the individual routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and photocopying is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 5 P.M. Evening and weekend work may be required, as job duties demand.
