Location: Buffalo Grove, IL (Onsite)
Compensation: $135k to $155K base + 5% bonus

This role offers cross-site visibility and the opportunity to influence automation strategy in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead automation engineering initiatives across the Buffalo Grove and Libertyville manufacturing sites
- Partner with OEMs on new equipment design, development, and production integration
- Drive continuous improvement and redesign efforts for existing automated systems
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams
- Design, specify, implement, and maintain automation equipment, tooling, and applications
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for mechanical automation solutions, ensuring compliance, reliability, and scalability
- Travel occasionally to the Austin, TX headquarters as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 8+ years of automation engineering experience in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device preferred)
- Strong background in equipment design, implementation, and process optimization
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar CAD platforms
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage OEM relationships, and provide enterprise-level technical guidance
Preferred Experience:
- Medical device or disposable manufacturing
- Drug handling automation or high-speed automated systems
