American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 17-week Oncology (Med/Surg) travel assignment requiring a GA or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of oncology experience.

- Acute care inpatient oncology unit (7th floor) at a hospital setting \n
- 29-bed unit serving patients with acute oncology symptoms including thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology conditions, end-of-life care, and medical overflow \n
- Outpatient oncology patients may be transferred to the floor to complete treatment when the outpatient area closes \n
- Patient ratio is typically 1:5, occasionally 1:6 \n
- Telemetry monitoring is present via central monitor; ability to read strips is not required \n
- Charting in MEDITECH \n
- 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) \n
- Every other weekend required \n
- Holiday rotation with staff required \n
- Floating to medical acute floor is rare \n
- 3-day floor-specific orientation provided \n

- Active GA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand \n
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required; NIHSS preferred \n
- ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification required for those administering chemotherapy \n
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required \n
- Driver's license required for consideration \n
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible \n

- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position \n
- Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible \n
- Scrub color: Caribbean Blue \n
- Nurse aides are available, generally 3 per day on a shift \n
- Charge nurse is provided outside of the staffing grid except in unusual circumstances \n
- Any time-off or scheduling requests must be established at the time of assignment confirmation \n
- RTO requests made after the assignment begins may not be honored \n
