Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at an inpatient medical facility in New Albany, IN, requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.

  • Inpatient medical progressive care unit (2F) setting
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
  • \n
  • Three days per week, 36 hours per week
  • \n
  • Patient population includes medical inpatients requiring progressive care monitoring
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Indiana or a compact state currently in hand
  • \n
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • \n
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • \n
  • Previous nursing experience preferred; new graduates may be considered
  • \n
  • MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
  • \n

  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, implementation of therapies, patient and family education, and discharge facilitation
  • \n
  • Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice
  • \n
  • Delegates tasks to and oversees team members in the execution of the patient care plan
  • \n
  • Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
  • \n
  • Promotes a positive, healing environment and demonstrates collaborative practice across disciplines
