Orthopedic Hand Surgeon Opportunity – Community Hospital SettingLocation: Hudson, New YorkSpecialty: Orthopedic Surgery – Hand & Upper ExtremityEmployment Type: Full-Time, EmployedPosition Highlights Opportunity to establish and lead a dedicated hand and upper extremity surgery service Practice primarily in an outpatient Bone & Joint Center clinic with access to modern operating rooms Hospital-employed position within a collaborative orthopedic team Shared call schedule designed to support work–life balance Strong collaboration with primary care, emergency medicine, and rehabilitation specialists Opportunity to grow and expand hand surgery services for the regionClinical Responsibilities Diagnose and treat a full spectrum of hand, wrist, forearm, and upper extremity conditions Manage traumatic injuries including fractures, tendon and nerve injuries, amputations, and crush injuries Treat degenerative and overuse conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, trigger finger, and Dupuytren’s contracture Address repetitive motion injuries common in agricultural, construction, and manual labor populations Perform minimally invasive, arthroscopic, and open surgical procedures Provide non-operative care including injections, splinting, therapy coordination, and patient education Participate in shared call coverage for hand and upper extremity emergencies Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and community outreach programsQualifications MD or DO degree Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency Fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery preferred or significant focused experience Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (CAQ in Hand Surgery preferred) Eligible for New York medical licensure Strong commitment to patient-centered care and rural community serviceCompensation & Benefits Competitive salary with production incentives Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage Malpractice coverage Retirement plan CME allowance Relocation assistance Potential loan repayment opportunitiesCommunity Highlights Located in the scenic Hudson Valley with access to mountains, rivers, and outdoor recreation Affordable housing and strong local schools Vibrant arts, dining, and cultural scene Easy access to Albany, New York City, and the Berkshires* Ideal setting for physicians seeking a balanced lifestyle in a close-knit community Estimated pay range/amount is $480,000 - $650,000.
