American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN with 2+ years of L&D and post-partum experience for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital.
Details\n- \n
- Work in the Mother Baby Center, covering both Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum units \n
- Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day \n
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM \n
- Required to work every other weekend \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby as needed \n
- Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR \n

- Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted) \n
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience with post-partum experience required \n
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP (AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM preferred) \n
- Sterile vaginal exam experience required \n
- Fetal monitoring skills required, including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns \n
- Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required \n
- Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required \n
- Experience with pain management and nitrous oxide preferred \n
- One supervisor reference required for consideration \n

- Provide nursing care across both labor and delivery and post-partum settings within a Mother Baby Center model \n
- Located in a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 258 staffed beds \n
- Scrubs provided by the unit \n
- Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility for consideration \n
- RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days during the assignment \n
- Returning staff must have been separated from perm employment (staff or per diem) for at least 3 months prior to starting \n
