\n\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\n

\n
• Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience on a fast-paced medical/surgical unit\n
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred; Level II Trauma Center experience acceptable (trauma nurse experience highly valued)\n
• Proficiency in post-surgical care: chest tubes, tubes/drips (e.g., Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), lines/tubes/drains, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry monitoring, complex wound care, and central line care/maintenance and blood draws\n
• Active New Hampshire RN License or Compact RN License (proof of state residency required)\n
• BLS certification required\n
• At least 1 year of overall nursing experience required; travel nurse experience is a plus\n

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality clinical nursing care to trauma and acute care surgical patients in an inpatient surgical unit\n
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic injuries, and common acute surgical diagnoses (hernia repair, small bowel obstructions, appendectomy, cholecystectomy)\n
• Provide care for patients in negative pressure rooms, including COVID-positive populations when required\n
• Manage post-operative lines, drains, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and central lines; perform telemetry monitoring and complex wound care\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (surgeons, hospitalists, PT/OT, case management) to support patient rehabilitation and recovery\n
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and quality standards\n
• Participate in patient and family education to promote safe discharge and optimal outcomes\n
