Why Crookston?
\nDon't let the small-town feel fool you, Crookston punches above its weight. Nestled in the Red River Valley, it's got the charm of a tight-knit community with more to do than you'd expect. The University of Minnesota Crookston brings energy and a surprisingly active local scene. Outdoor lovers will feel right at home with easy access to fishing, hunting, hiking, and biking trails along the Red Lake River right in town. Cost of living is low, housing is easy to find, and your travel dollar goes a lot further here than it would in a metro market. And if you're craving a bigger city fix, Fargo is just 75 miles east, close enough for a night out, far enough that you're not paying for it every day. It's a genuinely great assignment for a traveler who wants solid experience, real variety, and a chance to actually enjoy their time off.
