Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency, with night shifts and an every-other-weekend rotation.

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit
\n
• Patient population includes acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
\n
• Common diagnoses include acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-op general surgery, post-op GYN surgery, post-op total knee and hip replacements, orthopedics, acute and chronic pain, active GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema, diabetic conditions, renal failure, drug overdose, CIWA scores below 7, suicidal ideation, arrhythmia, radioactive therapy, uncontrolled or new-onset seizures, and stable COVID
\n
• IV drips administered on the unit include Heparin and TNA
\n
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
\n
• Every-other-weekend rotation required
\n
• Holiday coverage required as needed
\n
• Floating required between all health system facilities
\n
• EMR: Epic (required)
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active NC or compact RN license required
\n
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
\n
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
\n
• Med/Surg Tele and general telemetry experience required
\n
• Epic EMR experience required
\n
• Must pass a facility-required Pass/Fail EKG exam (two attempts allowed) during compliance — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided
\n
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
\n
• Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
\n
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
\n
