American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring active MO or compact licensure and a minimum of 2 years of recent PCU specialty experience.

- Float position covering multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units, including ED holding for inpatient holds \n
- Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, renal, orthopedic, and post-surgical cases \n
- Patient ratio of 1:5 \n
- Required skills include cardiac telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response teams \n
- Cardiovascular procedures: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery \n
- Respiratory skills: BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), HFNC, tracheostomy management \n
- IV therapy skills: blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, starting IVs \n
- Medication management: Heparin protocols, cardiac drip management and titration, PCA, procedural sedation, IV insulin protocols \n
- Additional skills: CVA care, feeding tube management, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and surgical drains \n
- Preferred skills: port access/management, chemotherapy monitoring \n
- Epic EMR (experience preferred) \n
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15) \n
- 8 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) \n
- 13-week contract \n

- Active RN license — MO or compact license (both Kansas and Missouri licenses, or a compact license, must be in hand at time of consideration due to floating requirements across state lines) \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS \n
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU specialty experience required, with at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year \n
- Previous charge RN experience preferred \n
- Teaching hospital experience preferred \n
- Epic EMR experience preferred \n
- SSN required for consideration \n
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor-level or above; the second may be a charge RN — all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year \n
- RTO requests must be finalized at time of consideration (maximum 7 days) \n

- Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position \n
- Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment \n
- Holiday shift coverage and charge RN assignments may be required as needed \n
- Block scheduling is not available \n
- Pre-compliance modules are required prior to the start date (approximately 10–15 hours total), including Epic training and infusion pump/glucometer training \n
- Candidates who previously worked at any BJC or Saint Lukes facility as a permanent employee must wait 1 year before being eligible as a traveler \n
- Returning travelers must have an 18-month gap from their last assignment at this health system, with at least a 3-month break in service \n
- Contractors are expected to fulfill their full contract term — mid-contract cancellations to accept another assignment within the same system are not permitted; if a contract is canceled at the contractor's discretion, an assignment elsewhere must be completed before re-applying \n
