American Traveler is hiring a Registered Ultrasound Technologist for a hospital-based general ultrasound position requiring 1-2 years of sonography experience and ARDMS or ARRT certification.

- Hospital setting open 24/7, 365 days a year \n
- Performs sonography exams in the department, surgery, emergency department, and patient floors \n
- Patient ratio of 1:10 \n
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM \n
- On-call required 2 days per week and every other weekend, with a 30-minute response time \n
- General ultrasound scope includes abdominal aorta, appendix, biliary tract, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and spleen \n
- OB/GYN scope includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester studies, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and multiple pregnancy \n
- Vascular scope includes aorta, arterial graft studies, carotid, color flow, duplex, dialysis grafts, and upper/lower extremity arterial and venous studies \n
- Renal/pelvis scope includes bladder, hernia, ovaries, renal/bladder, transvaginal, uterus, and vaginal studies \n
- Small parts scope includes breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid \n
- Transplant studies include liver, pancreas, and renal \n
- Procedures may include paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration \n
- Uses PACS, Philips, and Siemens equipment \n
- Cerner charting experience preferred \n
- \n
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program \n
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sonographer \n
- ARDMS or ARRT certification required \n
- Current BLS certification required \n
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred \n
- Outpatient ultrasound experience will be considered \n
- Travel experience preferred but not required; first-time travelers may be considered \n
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist, and occasionally lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds with proper body mechanics \n
- Must be able to perform sonography exams for eight hours or more per shift \n
- Must have keen hearing and visual acuity \n
- Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure \n
- License required if applicable \n

- Provides quality diagnostic imaging to support patient care and assists Radiologists with exams \n
- Must complete facility-required modules prior to starting, or by the end of the first shift if not completed beforehand \n
- Position is designated safety sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana \n
- Facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing; a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions \n
- Candidates must avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products, prior to and during the assignment \n
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility \n
