Position Overview
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus is seeking a fellowship-trained Mohs Dermatologic Surgeon for a full-time faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
This faculty member will join a growing academic dermatology program and provide clinical care primarily in an outpatient setting in Oklahoma City, with the opportunity to practice at OU Health clinical sites and the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. Faculty responsibilities include patient care, resident and medical student education, and optional participation in research.
The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative academic environment while helping expand dermatologic surgery services within one of the region’s leading academic health systems.
Clinical Responsibilities
The clinical role focuses on delivering high-quality dermatologic and surgical care, including:
- Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstruction
- Outpatient dermatology clinic services
- Supervision and clinical teaching of dermatology residents and medical students
- Patient care at OU Health facilities and/or the Oklahoma City VA
Faculty members participate in the academic mission of the department through:
- Teaching medical students and dermatology residents
- Didactic lectures and small-group teaching
- Clinical instruction and mentorship
- Participation in faculty development and continuing medical education activities
Participation in clinical or basic science research is available but not required for candidates on the clinical educator track. Faculty who are interested in research will have opportunities to collaborate within the broader academic environment of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology
- Fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery and board eligible
- Eligibility for an Oklahoma medical license
