Job Requirements

• Valid and current State Occupational Therapist license (must be eligible to practice in Ohio)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, hospital or acute care experience preferred
• Strong commitment to patient and employee safety and continuous quality improvement
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional status and develop individualized OT treatment plans focused on ADLs, mobility, and participation
• Plan, organize, and deliver occupational therapy interventions in accordance with federal, state, and facility standards
• Provide clinical treatment for a diverse hospital population including post-operative, neurological, and medically complex patients
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, rounds, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and mentor OT/COTA students as assigned
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner (EMR documentation)
• Educate patients and families on adaptive equipment, home safety, and therapy goals to support successful transitions
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement within the rehabilitation team
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and collaborate effectively with nursing, PT, SLP, and other clinical staff
