Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring interventional cardiac cath lab experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility (562 beds)
- Cath Lab unit with a 5-room setup and an average daily census of 25
- Procedures performed include diagnostic catheterizations (adult), left and right heart catheterizations, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, and circulating procedures
- Medication experience required: procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:30–19:00)
- On-call required as needed
- Expected to work 2–3 weekends per contract
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required of all travelers
- Charting performed in Cerner
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Procedural sedation monitoring experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
- RTO is ideally no more than 5 days; requests beyond 5 days require facility approval
- Any permanent or PRN employee of the facility's health system must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Parking is available at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required
