Role Title: Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)
Location: Ontario, CA 91764
Pay Rate: $33.13/hr.
Employment Type: Per Diem
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled LPN/LVN to provide care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced clinical support. This role includes bedside and remote patient monitoring, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor patients using cardiac and respiratory devices: heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation
Provide bedside or centralized monitoring from the nursing station
Administer medications and provide clinical support as ordered
Calculate medication dosages and monitor patient response
Administer continuous medication infusions (non-titrated vasoactive agents, anti-arrhythmic agents, platelet inhibitors, insulin)
Monitor patients before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional procedures, including:
TEE, cardiac catheterization with PCI, cardioversion, bronchoscopy, EGD, PEG placement, chest tube insertion
Recognize cardiopulmonary emergencies and initiate standardized interventions
Perform hemodynamic monitoring, including equipment setup, troubleshooting, and recognizing patient instability
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and communicate findings to the care team
Assess ventilated patients and manage non-invasive oxygen delivery systems (oral airways, BiPAP, nasal CPAP)
Support patients on long-term mechanical ventilation, including ventilator weaning
Monitor patients receiving renal therapies (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous bladder irrigation, stents, urostomies)
Recognize indications for enteral and parenteral nutrition and manage related complications
Support patient families to facilitate safe transition from hospital to home
Required Competencies & Professional Characteristics
Basic and Advanced Life Support proficiency
Dysrhythmia monitoring, interpretation, and treatment
Strong patient advocacy and clinical judgment
Minimum 1 year of long term acute care experience
Compassionate, patient-centered care practices
Systems thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration

Commitment to clinical inquiry and continuous learning
Ability to educate patients and their families

Facility / Position Requirements
Active California LPN/LVN license or multi-state compact license
IV Certification
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
Up-to-date immunizations
Ability to pass drug screen and background check

Do you have IV certification?
