We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Floor Care Technician to join our environmental services team at a hospital in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary flooring throughout the facility, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in patient and public areas.
What You Will Do
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of various floor surfaces (tile, vinyl, carpet, etc.)
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, and vacuums
- Strip, wax, and polish floors as needed
- Respond promptly to spills and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
- Follow all hospital safety protocols, including infection control procedures
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals according to regulations
- Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
- 2 years of floor technician experience is preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Extensive floor care product knowledge
- Working knowledge of multiple hard floor surfaces (marble, granite, VCT, etc.)
- Working knowledge of carpet cleaning procedures (shampooing, extracting, bonneting)
- Ability to perform window cleaning and power washing duties
- Planning / scheduling, problem solving
- Time management skills
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate and follow-up
