Park Maintenance Technician - Full-time

About the Department

Performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor necessary to the maintenance, repair and construction of the County park system. Maintains park grounds and facilities, services and repairs park equipment.

This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing under 49 CFR Part 382 and 49 CFR Part 40.

This is a safety-sensitive position.

This position will be interviewing on Wednesday, April 22nd. Position Duties

•Operates light and heavy equipment to perform construction and maintenance of park grounds.
•Performs manual labor to maintain the appearance, repair, construct, and maintain the park system grounds, buildings and facilities.
•Performs minor maintenance, construction, and repair to park facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Welds and makes signs as needed.
•Performs similar types of skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor to maintain highways, county buildings, public drainage systems, and other public works projects as required.
•Performs semi-skilled labor in the areas of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry.
• Directs seasonal staffing in maintenance operation of Park facilities and grounds.
•Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

•High school diploma or GED.
•1 year experience in a maintenance position with experience in operating light and heavy equipment.
•A Valid Minnesota Class B Driver's License with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of employment.

The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, background investigation, and pre-placement physical including DOT screening.
