Job Summary
TeamBuilders Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Community Support Specialist (CSS) to join our team in Clayton, NM. In this role, you will provide direct, community-based support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, helping them build skills, access resources, and improve their overall quality of life.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference and enjoys working one-on-one with clients in a dynamic, community setting.
Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized support services in home and community settings

Assist clients with developing daily living skills, coping strategies, and independence

Connect clients to community resources (housing, employment, healthcare, etc.)

Support treatment plan goals in collaboration with clinical team members

Provide crisis support and de-escalation when needed

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Transport clients as needed to appointments or services
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred)

Experience in behavioral health, social services, or a related field preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one of the following minimum education and experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field plus 1 year of experience working with SMI adults; or,
Associate degree in a human services related field plus 2 years of experience working with SMI adults; or,
High School Diploma or General Education Development plus 3 years of experience working with SMI adults; or,
Meets the minimum requirements as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) by the State of New
working with individuals impacted by mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.
Obtained a Criminal Records Clearance (local, state, and FBI).
Maintains certifications in First Aid and
certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
Demonstrated skills in teaching the curriculum to consumer family
driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto
and ability to travel throughout the service area.
