Correspondent Purchase Auditor - Full-time

Summary of the Role:

The Correspondent Purchase Auditor is tasked with reviewing closed loan files to verify compliance with regulatory and investor requirements. The position demands a meticulous review of loan documents, adherence to compliance protocols, and data integrity validation in systems like Encompass. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior reviewers, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and escalating issues as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Loan File Review: Examine non-delegated, specialty, or complex loan packages for completeness and adherence to underwriting criteria.
2. Compliance and Data Validation: Conduct compliance checks and ensure accurate data entry in Encompass and other relevant systems.
3. Communication: Clearly articulate deficiencies and required corrections to stakeholders.
4. Mentorship: Support junior team members by providing training and guidance.
5. Escalation Management: Appropriately escalate unresolved or high-priority issues.
6. Documentation: Upload and maintain accurate checklists and documentation per policy.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: At least 3 years in mortgage-related roles, such as closing, funding, processing, and underwriting.
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of mortgage loan documents; familiarity with tools like Encompass is advantageous.
