PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist with the daily operation of the Child Nutrition Department. Working in conjunction with Cafeteria and Campus personnel and with Child Nutrition vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Special knowledge/Skills:
Ability to prioritize workload and meet established deadlines
Knowledge of basic purchasing and catering procedures
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to use calculator (10-key by touch)
Ability to use personal computer and software to create spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Proficiency in typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance
Proficiency in Google, word, excel and Canva
Ability to navigate social media, create, and post marketing ideas for the program
Ability to work with numbers in accuarted and rapid manner to meet established deadlines
Ability to communicare effectively, both written and oral
Ability to work with fax, copier, and other related office equipment
Organizational skills
Experience:
Three years clerk experience
Two years of experience in school Child Nutrition environment preferred
Two years of food and catering experience
Two years of experience in Mosaic Point of Sales software preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Catering
1.1 Participate in all aspects of catering special events including organizing the event, ordering and receiving product, scheduling staff for service and clean up
1.2 Promote the Child Nutrition Catering Program
1.3 Track all caterings and invoice the appropriate parties to receive payment
- Business Assistant
2.1 Research and receive quotes for new kitchen equipment
2.2 Review and Process work orders in Eduphoria
2.3 Track cafeteria equipment and all repairs on the Equipment Log
2.4 Maintain and organize the Child Nutrition supply and uniform closest
2.5 Manage the Temperature Control System to ensure freezers and coolers are at correct temperatures daily
2.6 Process purchase orders for equipment repairs, office supplies, general supplies, marketing materials, and uniforms
2.7 Process Travel Authorizations and reserve vehicle(s)
2.8 Complete ITR’s and report to the Business Office
2.9 Responsible for coordinating staff for after-hours school events
2.10 Responsible for coordinating the Thanksgiving Feast. Communicate with Café Managers, Principals, Administrative staff, and volunteers
2.11 Update the Snack List and pricing annually
2.12 Track food sales from the campus for special events and communicate to the Business Office.
2.13 Troubleshoot Mosaic POS and BOH issues with managers and cafeteria staff
2.14 Oversee all marketing for Child Nutrition Department on district website, social media, and in person
2.15 Ensure summer feeding banners and yard signs are posted prior to the start of summer feeding
2.16 Create staff accounts in Mosaic POS
2.17 Mosaic BOH – coffee bar production records and changes to menu headers
3. Accounting
3.1 Review all cafeteria deposits and turn into Business Office
3.2 Complete the Meal Per Labor Hour Reports
3.3 Enter Field Trips into Mosaic
3.4 Verify and enter voucher meals into Mosaic
3.5 Track student birthday ice-creams sales on spreadsheet and submit invoice to the Business Office
4. Other Responsibilities
4.1 Develop professional skills appropriate to job assignments
4.2 Ensure compliance with USDA, TDA, and District procurement regulations.
4.3 Maintain confidentiality of information
4.4 Assist in on-site monitoring reviews as requested
4.5 Sub in kitchens as needed
4.6 Attend food shows as needed
4.7 Other duties as assigned by the Director

Work with frequent interruptions to meet established deadline. Repetitive hand motion, prolonged use of computer, occaissional irregular, and prolonged hours.
