Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team as a 6th Grade ELA Summer School Teacher. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to engage and inspire students in their literacy skills during the summer months. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and stimulating learning environment, fostering a love for reading and writing while helping students achieve their academic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students in accordance with state standards and district curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with summer program staff and administrators to support student success.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to guide improvement.
  • Facilitate a positive classroom environment that promotes collaboration, respect, and a love for literature.
  • Follow all district policies, procedures, and summer program guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Valid teaching certification for Middle School English.
  • Prior experience teaching middle school students, particularly in English Language Arts, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the 6th grade ELA curriculum and state educational standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology and educational tools to enhance learning.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Availability for the entire duration of the summer program.
