Job Title: Substitute Teacher
Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND) Brighton, CO
ACAND Campus and/or Dacano, CO (Homeschool campus)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Substitute Coordinator
Work Hours/Days: As Needed, Monday-Friday 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. each day
Position Summary:
Are you passionate about classical education and supporting the culture of a growing classical charter school? We are looking for a substitute teacher who can support our school by serving as a substitute teacher whenever a teacher is out. You will be able to work at both our school campus in Brighton and/or our Home School Enrichment program in Dacano.

Essential Functions:
- Follow lesson plans to teach and supervise classes as needed on a daily basis
- Respond promptly to teacher's requests for a substitute teacher
- Communicate with teachers by leaving notes for them on the day's events, progress, or challenges, including substitute teacher binders and lesson plan needs
- Build positive relationships with students by holding them to high standards of conduct
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information
- Maintain collegial, professional relationships with colleagues and staff
- Complete all required training and provide documentation
- Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations
- Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Commitment to the mission and vision of ACACS
- Commitment to the high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Adherence to all school policies
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
- School experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
- Must be able to supervise outdoor duties for at least 40 mins per session
