Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team for our ELD Summer School Program. The Summer ELD Paraprofessional supports English Learner (EL) students during the district’s summer program by assisting the ELD teacher with instruction, small-group support, and classroom management. The paraprofessional works directly with students to reinforce language development skills and promote academic engagement in a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support ELD instruction under the direction of a certificated teacher.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce English language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Assist with classroom management and student supervision during instructional and non-instructional times.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and learning activities.
  • Support students with understanding directions, assignments, and classroom routines.
  • Monitor student engagement and provide encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student needs and progress.
  • Follow all district policies, procedures, and summer program guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with English Learner students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when necessary.

Hours:

  • 8:30 am to 3:00 pm

  • 6/29/2026 to 7/30/2026
  • No School 7/02/2026 & 7/4/2026

 Class Days:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
