Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated School Nurses to join our team for the Extended School Year (ESY) program. The Extended School Year (ESY) School Nurse provides health services to students during the summer ESY program to support student safety, wellness, and access to education in accordance with district policies and students’ health care plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and health assessments.
- Implement and monitor student health care plans, including those related to medical conditions and IEPs.
- Respond to health emergencies and follow district emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and related service providers to support student health needs.
- Maintain accurate health records and required documentation.
- Communicate with families regarding student health concerns as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with state health regulations, district policies, and confidentiality requirements.
- Promote a safe and healthy school environment.

Requirements:
- School Nurse K-12 and RN License.
- Recognize the philosophy that health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.
- The duties of the Registered Nurse are exclusively in connection with school health services and as mandated by the School Health Act with technical content prescribed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Central Dauphin School District policy and procedures.
- Completion of American Red Cross Standard First Aid Course.
Hours of Work:
- 7:30 am - 12:30 pm
Up to 6 hours per week to be determined by enrollment
