We are seeking energetic, motivated and team-oriented Pool Managers for the 2026 pool season! You'll be able to use your aquatics experience to manage the day-to-day operations at one of our outdoor pools. Pool Managers are also responsible for supervising aquatic staff, making staff schedules and enforcing all pool rules and regulations. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the District.
Pay & Schedule:
$17.00 Per Hour
This is a part-time seasonal, non-exempt position.
Hours vary from Monday - Sunday between 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Anticipated Start Date: 5/4/2026
Duties & Responsibilities:

Professionally supervises the assistant pool manager, instructors, lifeguards and attendants; ensures staff is on-time and well-prepared; assigns daily duties to all facility staff members.

Enforces all pool rules and regulations established by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), StarGuard, Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA) and the Northbrook Park District.

Responsibly creates and maintains the work schedule of all staff; ensures staff coverage is sufficient for operations at all times.

Oversees payroll for accurate entry; approves payroll on a bi-weekly basis based on the payroll schedule.

Responsibly manages an area of operations including, but not limited to swim lessons, pool maintenance and pool cleaning operations and staff training.

Professionally enforces all rules with public and staff.

Effectively maintains cleanliness for the facility; directs staff in maintaining cleanliness.

Actively leads or assists with training; pre-season and in-service

Conducts and documents Visual Awareness Testing (VAT) drills.

Promptly issues disciplinary reports.

Assigns rotations for lifeguards.

Conducts staff performance appraisals as directed.

Accurately inventories and requisitions supplies.
-
Regularly performs water tests and documents results.

Readily lifeguards and/or teaches swim lessons as needed.

Manages cash-handling operations.

Operates and monitors the use of the Public Address (PA) system.

Leads staff in crisis management.

Performs first-aid as needed.

Documents all incidents and accidents.

Remains reachable by phone or email at all times in case of emergency; notifies manager when not possible as a back-up point of contact.

Diligently follows and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.

Follows safe work practices.

Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.

Assists with special events as needed.

Performs related duties as assigned.
