EDUCATION

High School/GED or equivalent (Required)

Associates degree in related field (science, mathematics, or mechanical technology). (Preferred)

Trade/Vocational School in mechanical theory through Military, Apprenticeship, College or Technical School. (Preferred)

In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.
 

EXPERIENCE

5 Years + experience in, but not limited to, maintenance and operation of mechanical equipment and building maintenance and modifications, of which one year should be in nuclear. (Required)
 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

General Employee Training 1, 2, 3 and 4 (including respirator) (Required)

Texas Drivers license (Required)

Department of Transportation Certification (Required)
 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

MAINTENANCE SUPPORT:

Maintains the operability of equipment and facilities over which Maintenance Support has jurisdiction; this includes pumps, valves, potable water systems, waste water systems, operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, building repairs and modifications, and HVAC maintenance in accordance with company guidelines.

Performs maintenance or modifications to buildings or structures per the Service Request, Work Order or other verbal/written instructions given in accordance with company guidelines.

Performs plumbing activities necessary to maintain the habitability of Site buildings. Maintains, repairs or modifies potable water and waste water systems necessary for the comfort of personnel and equipment protection.

Performs all aspects of pump maintenance and repair on a wide variety of pumps including removal, installation, alignment, seal rework, bearing/shaft replacement, lubrication, inspection, and troubleshooting.

Performs all aspects of valve maintenance and repair on all types and sizes of valves including removal, installation, teardown, rebuild, seal, seat & disc replacement, lubrication, inspection, and troubleshooting.

Performs all aspects of piping maintenance and repair including gasket replacement, fabricating, installing, and aligning piping, and torquing fasteners.

Performs all aspects of engine maintenance and repair on various type and size engines including all engine subsystems.
 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Accept ERO position as needed.

Accept outage position as needed.

Be able to certify as a Mechanic for Facilities and maintain certain task certifications.

Must be able to understand and follow blue prints.

Performs other duties as specified by management and supervision.

Receives and comprehends general and specialized training; is accountable for maintaining all earned certifications; provides training and evaluates job performance to certify others.
