Tax Manager

An expanding Tax team is looking to bring a Tax Manager on to the team. With a close knit team, a cap on hours during busy season, and huge emphasis on mentorship the role is a great launch pad for a long career with a stable firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee tax engagements from planning to completion, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor staff at various levels, providing guidance and feedback on career development.
• Collaborate with team members on tax engagements and client projects.
• Develop skills in specialized tax areas and stay current on industry changes.
• Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Implement tax planning strategies to optimize client benefits.
• Analyze financial statements to identify tax implications and opportunities.
• Conduct tax research to address complex client needs and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or EA certification required.
• 5-10 years of experience in public accounting.
• SALT experience preferred
• Experience reviewing complex individual and trust tax returns, including estate, gift and trust income tax returns (Forms 706, 709, 1041, etc.) a plus
• Proficiency in Excel and tax research software.
