Summary

Our client provides commercial construction services throughout the western United States, delivering innovative construction solutions to clients who expect excellence. They are seeking anAssistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of construction projects through effective planning, organization, and control of all project elements under the guidance of a Project Manager or Vice President.This is a hands-on, results-driven role that requires strong collaboration with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is professional, solutions-oriented, and capable of resolving issues diplomatically while maintaining a positive attitude.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of construction projects.

  • Assist with coordination and communication among clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

  • Participate in project scheduling, budgeting, and management of project documentation.

  • Support the bid process, including subcontractor coordination and quantity takeoffs.

  • Assist in reviewing and interpreting blueprints, schedules, specifications, and construction documents.

  • Track project progress, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.

  • Assist in managing and coaching team members in vocational and administrative skills.

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of project activities and communications.

  • Contribute to problem-solving and decision-making to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience

    • 24 years of experience in the construction industry.

    • 24 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role.

  • Education

    • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.

  • Technical & Professional Skills

    • Experience supporting the bid process and coordinating subcontractors.

    • Quantity takeoff and estimating experience.

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and specifications.

    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Outlook, Procore, and Bluebeam.

  • Core Competencies

    • Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with executive-level clients and project teams.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

    • Capable of multitasking, problem-solving, and working independently or collaboratively.

    • Demonstrates confidence, ambition, and initiative.
