Civil Journeyman – Telecom Construction

Hourly Pay: $26–$32 per hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Required
Reports To: Foreman / Superintendent

Who We Are – Tower Communications Expert (TCE)

At TCE, we don’t just build telecom infrastructure—we build careers, teams, and trust.

We are a nationwide telecom construction company built on craftsmanship, accountability, and taking care of our people. Our crews work on critical infrastructure projects that keep communities connected, and we take pride in doing the work safely, correctly, and with integrity.

We operate like a team, not a hierarchy. We value experience, initiative, and people who show up ready to work—and ready to look out for one another.

If you want a place where your skills matter, your effort is recognized, and safety isn’t negotiable, you’re in the right place.

The Role – Civil Journeyman

The Civil Journeyman is a hands-on, experienced field professional responsible for performing high-quality civil construction work on telecom sites. This role supports tower foundations, concrete work, trenching, grounding, and site preparation while working closely with the Foreman and crew to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

This is a working role for someone who knows the trade, respects the process, and takes pride in getting the job done right.

What You’ll Do

Construction & Site Work

  • Perform trenching, conduit installation, backfill, compaction, grounding, and grading
  • Assist with site preparation, equipment staging, fencing, and platform construction
  • Operate construction equipment including skid steers, mini-excavators, plate compactors, concrete saws, and related tools

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all TCE, OSHA, and client safety requirements and jobsite protocols—no shortcuts
  • Maintain clean, organized, hazard-free worksites
  • Participate in tailgate meetings, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and daily equipment safety checks

Technical Support

  • Read and follow construction drawings, redlines, and scopes of work
  • Assist with layout, measuring, material handling, and proper equipment operation
  • Identify and report issues with materials, equipment, or site conditions to the Foreman promptly

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work as part of a crew to meet productivity, quality, and schedule expectations
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with crew members and supervisors

Contribute to a positive, safe, and professional work environment that reflects TCE

Requirements:

What You Need to Be a Great Fit

  • 2–3+ years of civil construction experience (telecom experience strongly preferred)

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding work
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required

Why TCE Is the Place You Want to Be

  • Competitive pay: $26–$32/hour depending on experience (plus per diem)
  • Excellent benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and more)
  • Consistent work with a growing, stable company
  • Safety-first culture where your well-being matters
