Compensation: Up to $35/hr (flexible based on experience)
Shift: 2nd Shift (3pm - 11:30pm)

A precision manufacturing company is seeking a skilled OD Grinder / Grinder Hand to support the finishing and refinement of high-precision metal components. This role is ideal for someone with strong manual grinding experience who takes pride in quality, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
You’ll work hands-on with grinding equipment and precision tools to produce parts that meet tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards in a clean, production-focused environment.
What You’ll Do
● Perform manual grinding, deburring, polishing, and finishing on metal components
● Set up and operate grinding equipment including cylindrical, surface, or centerless grinders
● Use hand tools such as die grinders, belt sanders, and bench grinders
● Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and basic GD&T requirements
● Inspect parts for surface finish, burrs, and dimensional accuracy
● Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
● Dress and maintain grinding wheels for accuracy and consistency
● Monitor grinding operations and adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling as needed
● Maintain tight tolerances and consistent surface finishes
● Blend radii, chamfers, and contours to spec
● Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area
● Document production and follow quality procedures
What You Bring
● Experience with manual grinding and abrasive finishing tools
● Experience operating cylindrical, surface, or centerless grinders
● Ability to read blueprints and understand basic GD&T
● Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
● Experience using precision measurement tools
● Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
● Ability to work with small, high-precision components
● High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience
● Background in tool & die, precision machining, aerospace, or similar environments
● Experience performing full setups independently
● Familiarity with hardened materials, carbide, or exotic metals
● Exposure to CNC grinding or automated grinding systems
Work Environment
● Manufacturing / machine shop setting
● Exposure to abrasives, coolants, and moderate noise
● Standing for extended periods and performing detailed work
● Overtime available based on production needs
