Radiologic Technologist I Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule10:00 PM - 8:00 AM, 4-10 hour shifts, every third weekend, holidays as needed, no on-call.
Job DescriptionThe Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The role includes performing essential functions as outlined below.
Responsibilities- Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- Restricts the radiation beam to provide non-exposure to unaffected parts of the patient.
- Performs portable x-ray examinations in various settings including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
- Identifies patient films correctly, marking them as required.
- Develops exposed x-ray film using appropriate processing methods.
- Completes patient requisitions with accurate details about the examinations conducted.
- Maintains an orderly x-ray room as directed by the head of the department.
- Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists in its administration to patients.
- Handles administrative duties related to scheduling, patient instruction, and film filing.
- Provides assistance to patients in moving and positioning for x-ray procedures based on individual needs.
- Communicates effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting to their developmental and educational levels.
- Adheres to the organization’s standards and competencies.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility.
- Must be able to work independently in emergency, trauma, and OR settings.
- Experience with portable x-ray procedures, including pediatrics.
- Must possess a New Jersey State License.
- Completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and clinical requirements.
