Job Description
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by performing routine and deep cleaning of equipment, work areas, and facilities. This role supports operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with health and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Clean and sanitize production areas, equipment, tools, and common spaces according to established procedures
- Follow sanitation schedules and documented cleaning protocols
- Use cleaning chemicals and supplies safely and correctly
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment as required
- Remove waste, recyclables, and debris from designated areas
- Maintain accurate sanitation and cleaning records/logs
- Identify and report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
- Follow all safety, food safety, and company policies (including PPE requirements)
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives as needed
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous sanitation, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience is a plus
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic understanding of safety and sanitation practices
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Previous experience working in a FDA or GMP regulated industry preferred
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible to work on weekends, and at nights, holidays and overtime as needed
- Being able to work with a team; excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and safety rules and regulations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Approximately 100% of the work is performed on the production floor and warehouse environment.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs., and to be able to bend, crouch, and lift items throughout the shift.
- Noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud
- Required to use Personal Protective Equipment necessary for the various environments
