Job Description
MMC Group is hiring for Quality Assurance Test Specialists for our client's new project in Taylor, TX area!
Candidates do not necessarily have to have experience in below specific needs/job duties, but being familiar with quality testing, semiconductor manufacturing, Construction support roles, and/or mechanically inclined. Client will train on everything you will do.
This role will require a lot of long-distance walking, climbing on latter's, crawling into tight places, and working within temperature controlled rooms.
This is contract-to-hire position based on performance and project/client needs. This project is projected to be 5+ years, so could be an excellent long-term opportunity, but client hires on a 2-3 month contract-to-hire basis.
The client is a contracted quality management and testing company, primarily for cleanroom manufacturing projects, and this role will support a project in their semiconductor manufacturing sector by reviewing and testing orbital welding quality on Ultra-High Purity 1/4 inch gas lines.
- Weld Inspection: Perform inspections on 316L stainless steel automatic GTAW (Orbital) welds in Ultra-High Purity (UHP) systems to ensure they meet project acceptance criteria.
- Documentation: Accurately document all accepted and rejected welds; communicate with welders regarding rejections and perform necessary re-inspections.
- System Surveillance: Perform oversight on fabrication contractors to ensure UHP procedures are being followed during installation.
- Quality Walkdowns: Walk down gas, chemical, and utility lines to check for proper hangers, supports, routing conflicts, correct labels, and overall workmanship.
- Pressure Testing: Witness and validate pressure tests on UHP and utility piping systems based on applicable project specifications.
- Cleanroom & Sub-Fab Operations: Perform work in Class 10 cleanroom environments and sub-fab floors. Working in these areas requires high surroundings awareness of gas, chemical, and mechanical systems.
- Compliance: Ensure all work meets the engineering design specifications for process contamination control and safety before the manufacturing process begins.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong work ethic, reliable, motivated, safe, team player, with good communication skills
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis
- Able to work at elevated heights (20 feet maximum working height) with fall protection
- Able to safely climb ladders and wear fall protection equipment
- Able to walk several miles over the course of a shift in a large manufacturing facility
- Have a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation
- Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship for any length of time
- Able to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficient with hand tools and making up various types of mechanical connections.
Schedule:
- Overtime required based on customer's project schedule. If overtime is required, then overtime hours are typically M-F and Saturday. Sundays are rare
- Overtime schedules can be 10-20 overtime hours per week
- Recently, project has been 50hrs a week on average, but can go up to 70hrs in a week depending on project timeline/schedule. OVERTIME PAY, Time and a half
