This position requires a 12-week contract with shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

\n\nJob Description\n

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive obstetrical care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases. Utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Acts and hospital policies, the RN will demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership while planning for the safe delivery of care.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Provide care for Labor and Delivery patients during all phases of obstetrical care.
\n
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess patient needs and implement care plans.
\n
• Demonstrate leadership skills in enhancing patient care delivery.
\n
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
\n
• Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately among staff.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Must have at least two previous travel assignments.
\n
• Experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, nursery, and Mother/Baby care.
\n
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications are required.
\n
• PALS certification required within 30 days of start if not currently possessed.
\n
• AWHONN certification preferred, with the option to complete onsite.
\n
