Job Description
Transdev in Salinas, CA is seeking an experienced B-Level Automotive Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gas vehicles across various vehicles and equipment. As a B Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

- $ 77,000 per year (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale) \n \n\n
o Starting pay $40 per hr with progression to $45 over 3 years.
\n \nBenefits include:

- Vacation: minimum of two 1 week the first year and progressing as outlined in the CBA \n \n
- Sick days: 5 days \n \n
- Holidays: 8 standard (as outlined in the CBA) \n \n\n

\n \nKey Responsibilities:
\n \n\n- \n
- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot automotive drivability, electrical, suspension and outboard wheelchair lift issues. \n \n
- Perform moderate to complex repairs and replacements of automotive components, ensuring optimal functionality. \n \n
- Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow. \n \n
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize fleet performance. \n \n
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies \n \n
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on automotive electrical systems and electric motors \n \n
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and \n \n\n
knowledge

- Other duties as required. \n \n\n
Qualifications:
\n \n\n- \n
- 5-10 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic. \n \n
- ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided \n \n
- CDL a plus \n \n
- Must provide your own comprehensive tool set \n \n
- Must have electrical diagnostic and repair skills \n \n
- Must be familiar with scan tools, ability to run bi-lateral tests, pin-out testing, and data comprehension \n \n
- Must have drivability diagnostic skills \n \n
- Strong suspension and brake diagnostic skills \n \n
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. \n \n
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not \n \n\n
authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
\n \nPhysical Requirements:
\n \nThe essential functions of this position require the ability to:
\n \n\n- \n
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions, work alone and in remote locations. \n \n
- Frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces \n \n
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level \n \n
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise. \n \n\n
