Full Time Days or Nights as scheduled by client (3x12s), every other weekend, holiday duty, and 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks.

\n\nJob Description\n

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provides direct care, applies appropriate interventions, and evaluates patient progress.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Connects with patients and families during triage, identifying initial management and assigning priority of care according to Triage Standards.
\n
• Conducts primary assessments of critical needs, documents deviations from norms, and identifies necessary interventions.
\n
• Encourages mutual trust and respect among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
\n
• Prepares patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments, making appropriate referrals for post-emergency care.
\n
• Assesses and structures educational sessions based on patient/family learning styles, ensuring understanding and retention of information.
\n
• Maintains awareness of the patient's condition throughout their visit and updates communication tools accordingly.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• One-year acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse.
\n
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only).
\n
• Active RN licensure in the applicable state.
\n
