Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN)\n\n
Assignment Duration\nThis is a 13-week contract position.
\n\nSchedule\nOrientation will be a full day on Monday and a full day on Tuesday. Part-time day or night shifts as needed.
\n\nJob Description\nThe Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies nursing theory, technical skills, and communication to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provides direct care, applying appropriate interventions and evaluating patient progress.
\n\nResponsibilities\n- \n
- Connect with patients and families during triage to establish priority of care. \n
- Conduct primary assessments to identify critical needs and document deviations from norms. \n
- Utilize patient and family interviews, EMS reports, and data for assessments. \n
- Document and report suspicions of domestic violence or abuse. \n
- Encourage teamwork and mutual respect among staff for optimal patient outcomes. \n
- Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments. \n
- Provide education on post-emergency care and assess learning styles for retention. \n
- Maintain patient and family engagement throughout the emergency visit. \n

- One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse. \n
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only). \n
- NYS RN Licensure is required. \n
- 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department is preferred. \n
