American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week LDRP (Labor & Delivery/Postpartum) position in Colorado, requiring active L&D experience and multiple certifications including NRP and STABLE.
Details\n- \n
- 8-bed LDRP unit handling approximately 35 deliveries per month in an acute care hospital setting \n
- Patient population is primarily low-risk pregnancies at greater than 36 weeks gestation \n
- RNs are required to titrate drips, including oxytocin and occasional magnesium sulfate \n
- Fetal monitoring is managed by RNs using Philips monitors with OBIX as the EFM system \n
- CPAP is commonly used for newborns awaiting transfer due to high elevation; ventilators are available but rarely needed \n
- Unit staffing includes one OB tech per shift; charge RN takes an active patient assignment \n
- OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia are not in-house 24/7; anesthesia is available when an epidural is running \n
- Charting is performed using Epic \n
- 12-hour day shifts \n
- Self-scheduling is available \n
- 3 full weekends required per 6-week period \n
- 3 on-call shifts required per 6-week period \n
- Floating to other units is possible but rare \n
- Holiday coverage required for one summer holiday and one winter holiday \n

- Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license currently in hand; pending licenses will not be accepted \n
- Active certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and STABLE; pending certifications will not be accepted \n
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required \n
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility, as determined by a valid driver's license showing permanent address \n
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire \n
- Driver's license required for consideration \n

- AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines are followed on this unit \n
- Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts \n
- Candidates must be physically present in the state during the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely \n
- Blue scrubs are provided by the facility \n
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates previously placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered \n
- Travelers are expected to float within the zone they are hired into and must secure housing that allows them to meet this requirement \n
