RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work on 4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit with 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds
\n• Patient ratio of 1:5 patients per RN
\n• Day shift: 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, 1.33 HUC staffing model
\n• Night shift: 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, 0.33 HUC staffing model
\n• Care for CV surgery and vascular surgery patients including open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and vascular procedures
\n• Handle overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block
\n• Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management
\n• Manage various cardiac medications including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine
\n• Use Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts
\n• Work with Cerner EMR system
\n• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
\n• Stepdown and telemetry experience required
\n• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience preferred
\n• Float to any stepdown units, medical surgical units, or ER inpatient holding area
\n• No on-call requirements
\n• Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period required
\n• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
\n• Must be team player, enjoy fast-paced environment, and be flexible
