  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position.
    Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.

Join our collaborative Orthopedics team in Belfast, Maine, where you'll play an essential role in supporting patients through every step of their care journey. As a Medical Assistant, you will work alongside providers and clinical staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced specialty setting. Responsibilities include assisting with patient intake, preparing exam rooms, supporting procedures, coordinating care, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  3. Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.

    The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.

    Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
