Position Overview
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides high-quality rehabilitative care under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role is essential in helping patients improve mobility, restore function, and achieve greater independence across the lifespan.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Shift: First Shift (daytime hours)
- Department: Rehabilitation Services
- Location: Ashe Memorial Hospital, West Jefferson, NC
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve strength, mobility, and functional independence
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and rehabilitation goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive treatment environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure: Current North Carolina license as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience: Prior experience preferred; pediatric experience is a plus
