Interprets Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
Reports all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
Maintains Telemetry Supplies.
Records patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Identify normal and abnormal EKG rhythm pattern.
Assess and document EKG rhythm abnormalities. Notify appropriate healthcare professional in a timely manner.
Place patients on monitoring system according to facility’s policy and procedures.
Adapts behavior as needed to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
A successful test score (greater than 90%) on interpretation of cardiac rhythms and rhythm components is a requirement for initial employment.
Current Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider) certification
