Location: Battle Creek VA Medical Center 5500 Armstrong Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49037

Schedule: 6:00 PM7:00 AM (MonThurs) | 6:00 PM Fri7:00 AM Mon (weekends)

Overview:
The Battle Creek VA Medical Center seeks Board Certified or Board Eligible Physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Practice to provide on-site Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) coverage for inpatient and urgent care services during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

MD/DO degree from accredited institution

Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice

Current BLS (American Heart Association)

Unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory

Experience in both inpatient and outpatient care

Key Duties:

Provide overnight and weekend medical coverage for inpatient and urgent care areas.

Evaluate, treat, admit, discharge, and refer Veterans as needed.

Collaborate with Psychiatrist on Duty (POD) and Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD).

Complete admission/discharge documentation, progress notes, and patient activity reports.

Respond to all medical emergencies and oversee continuity of care.
