The Comptroller oversees all financial operations, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and financial planning in the hospital setting.

Qualifications
• Bachelors in Accounting/Finance (required)

Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to leadership and governing body
- Monitor cash flow and maintain financial stability
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with department leaders
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
- Assist leadership with financial forecasting and strategic planning
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure compliance with:
- CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)
- Joint Commission standards
- State regulations (e.g., DMH, DHR)
- Maintain documentation for audits, surveys, and financial reviews
- Support cost reporting and reimbursement processes
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets
- Oversee audits (internal and external)
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure proper segregation of duties
Revenue Cycle Oversight
- Collaborate with billing and admissions to optimize reimbursement
- Monitor collections, denials, and payer trends
- Ensure accurate charge capture and coding coordination (with clinical teams)
Payroll & HR Financial Coordination
- Oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy
- Collaborate with HR on compensation structures, benefits, and staffing costs
- Monitor overtime, agency usage, and labor expenses
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership
- Present financial reports to leadership
- Work closely with clinical and administrative departments to align financial goals with patient care needs
