Position Overview

We're looking for a motivated Jr. Commercial Construction Estimator who wants to grow with us. This isn't just about crunching numbers—it's about becoming part of a family-owned business where your work directly impacts our success.

As part of our team, you'll work closely with our sales staff, subcontractors, and project teams on everything from asphalt paving and concrete work to tenant build-outs and commercial renovations. You'll learn the business from the ground up, with real opportunity to grow into roles with greater responsibility based on your performance.

· You need everything spelled out step-by-step with no room for problem-solving or figuring things out

· You're looking for a strict 9-to-5 where you clock in, clock out, and don't think about the work until tomorrow

· You're uncomfortable with accountability and ownership—if you tend to make excuses or point fingers when things don't go as planned, this isn't the place

· You see 'good enough' as acceptable when it comes to accuracy—one missed detail can cost us (and our clients) thousands

· You struggle to manage multiple deadlines and priorities—you'll often be juggling several bids at once

· Showing up consistently and being reliable isn't your strong suit

Responsibilities

Subcontractor Relationships:

· Send out all RFB and initial bid communications in a timely fashion to see if they are interested in upcoming work

· Collect subcontractor proposals for bids in a timely manner

Proposal Development & Scopes of Work:

· Create thorough and comprehensive scopes of work for various types of general construction projects based off a set of plans or client supplied drawings

· Work with Sub Contractors to secure bids from various trades in a timely fashion to meet bid deadlines

Relationship Building:

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors and key stakeholders

Requirements

· Strong communication skills to interact effectively with vendors and our sales team

· Bilingual: English and Spanish

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Organized

· A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to conduct on-site visits if needed

· TEAM Player

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree required

· Proven experience of 2+ years in the construction industry, with a specific focus on GC estimating

· Strong attention to detail, and exceptional multitasking abilities

· Proficiency in office software, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Planswift
