Job Description
Randy’s Flooring and Advance Millwork are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Payroll Specialist & HR Administrator to join our team. This newly created role will oversee accounting operations for Advance Millwork while serving as the primary HR resource for both Advance Millwork and Randy’s Flooring. This is an in-person role located in our Coralville, IA office.

Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, and general ledger activity
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate financial records
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Work with external accountants, auditors, and financial partners as needed
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Human Resources
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees across both companies
- Oversee talent acquisition efforts through sourcing candidates; conduct interviews and facilitate onboarding processes including employee onboarding, offboarding, and employee recordkeeping
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, workers' compensation, and retirement plans, ensuring compliance with applicable laws such as OSHA and employment law
- Assist leadership with performance management, documentation, and employee development
- Handle employee relations issues with effective conflict management strategies while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance
- Prior HR, payroll, or people-operations experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of employment practices, compliance, and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanor
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Proficiency with accounting and HR/payroll software systems
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred
- Manufacturing or construction-related industry experience a plus
