Kazahs Shelter provides services to children (boys) ages 5 to 17 in the conservatorship of CPS, licensed by TDFPS, in our nurturing home environment.
Kazahs Shelter is looking for full-time, part-time caring individuals who are compassionate towards children and love working with children that have that have been abused, neglected, and are our foster care home. This staff will assist in providing self-help skills training and therapeutic treatments to children that might have behavioral or intellectual issues.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or GED.
Special Requirements:
- Advocate for children served and provide services, solutions, and a wonderful home environment, which allows for equal opportunities and stabilization.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all personnel (including management), children within the home, and with the various case workers/agencies involved in the children's life.
- The ability to carry out multiple assignments with diligence and a positive attitude.
- This position requires high energy, attention to detail and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Ability to recognize inappropriate or manipulative behavior in difficult or challenging situations, patience and compassion, excellent interpersonal skills, strong listening skills, close attention to detail.
- Ability to calmly and repetitively model appropriate behavior in difficult or challenging situations. Ability to react to situations, i.e., rescue, preventing children from hurting themselves.
- Actively always monitor children in care.
- Flexible schedule with availability would be given priority.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
The ideal candidate is joyful, gentle, patient, kind and teachable.
- Oversee children assigned including creative play, homework, lots of outside play, attending church with children and other community activities and events
- Transport children to visits and planned activities. * Maintain daily and weekly notes all by with other required documentation
- Organization, Cooking and Cleaning as needed
Required:
- 1 year verifiable experience in a residential childcare, foster or group home setting
- Valid Driver's license, & record with not more than one moving violation
- Clear drug and background check by CPS
- US work permit or citizen
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule:
- 12-hour shift, Day shift, Night shift, Holidays, On call, Overtime, Weekend availability

- CPR Certification (Preferred, but will provide training if needed)
