Job Summary
Elite Health and Wellness is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide in-home care services throughout the local Research Triangle Park (RTP) area.

In this role, you will work one-on-one with clients in the comfort of their homes, following individualized care plans designed to support each client's health, safety, and overall well-being. We are looking for someone who leads with empathy, demonstrates patience, and takes pride in delivering attentive, high-quality care while building meaningful relationships with those they serve.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well-organized, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for clients. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with clients, families, and care teams. Previous experience in home health care or a related field is preferred.


Responsibilities 
  •  Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including safely helping them move in and out of bed, chairs, and assisting with bathing, grooming, and toileting as needed. 
  •  Provide personal care support with dignity and respect, ensuring client comfort and privacy at all times. 
  •  Perform light housekeeping duties, including changing bed linens, light laundry, washing dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment. 
  •  Prepare and assist with meals according to dietary needs and preferences, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration. 
  •  Monitor and document patient care, condition, progress, and any concerns; promptly report observations or changes to the supervisor. 
  •  Offer companionship by engaging in conversation, reading aloud, and providing emotional support to promote mental and emotional well-being. 
  •  Provide medication reminders only, in accordance with care plans and company policy (no administering medication). 
  •  Assist clients with light exercise, mobility routines, or recreational activities to support physical health and independence. 
  •  Observe and follow all care plans, safety protocols, and infection control procedures to ensure the well-being of both client and caregiver. 
  •  Maintain effective communication with clients, families, and the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care. 
  •  Support a safe environment by identifying fall risks, keeping walkways clear, and encouraging the use of assistive devices when needed. 
  •  Respect client confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and company privacy guidelines.
Qualifications
  •  High school diploma or GED required 
  •  Minimum of one (1) year of professional caregiving experience preferred (home health, personal care, or related field) 
  •  Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required 
  •  Current CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe) 
  •  Ability to pass a background check and drug screening 
  •  Physically able to assist with lifting, transferring, and supporting clients as needed 
  •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and families 
  •  Compassionate, patient, and dependable with a genuine desire to help others 
  •  Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and report changes in client condition 
  •  Must be punctual, organized, and able to work independently in a client’s home 
  •  TB test and/or health screening (if required by state regulations)
