We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the culinary operations of our upscale steakhouse in Ewing, NJ. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of kitchen operations, and front-of-house experience to ensure seamless coordination between the dining room and kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory control, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Oversee hiring, training, and development of kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
- Monitor food and labor costs, implement cost control measures, and meet budgetary goals.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Work closely with the culinary team to create and execute menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings.
- Address and resolve operational issues promptly to ensure a smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a kitchen manager or in a similar leadership role within a high-volume, upscale restaurant.
- Front-of-house experience with a strong understanding of guest service and operational collaboration.
- Proficiency in managing budgets, controlling costs, and meeting financial targets.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
