Job Description
An established restoration and construction firm is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its growing team in Albany, NY. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a background in restoration and construction estimating who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The Estimator will play a key part in producing accurate, competitive project estimates and ensuring successful project outcomes across water, fire, and general construction work.
Note: Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Albany, New York State.
The RoleThe Estimator will be responsible for preparing and reviewing detailed cost estimates for restoration and construction projects. Working closely with project managers, insurance adjusters, and clients, this individual will ensure estimates are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project goals. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects and grow within a supportive and expanding team.
ResponsibilitiesConduct site visits and review project scopes to collect necessary data for estimates.
Prepare detailed, timely cost estimates for water, fire restoration, and construction projects.
Collaborate with project managers, adjusters, and clients to refine project scopes and pricing.
Utilized estimating software (preferably Xactimate) to generate estimates and reports.
Track budgets, monitor changes, and update cost projections as projects progress.
Maintain clear and organized documentation of estimates and supporting materials.
Support continuous improvement in estimating processes and accuracy.
Minimum 3 years of experience estimating in restoration or construction environments.
Strong knowledge of water and fire damage restoration practices, as well as general construction.
Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and technical specifications.
Experience with Xactimate or similar estimating software (preferred).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Nice to Have:
Certification or training in restoration estimating or insurance claim processes.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
